About Us
Martin Tolar founded Tolion in 2023.
Martin Tolar, MD, PhD, trained in neurology at Boston Medical Center, earned his PhD for work on the role of apolipoprotein E in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease, and held a faculty post in the Department of Neurology at Yale. In 2013 he founded Alzheon, where the lead investigational treatment, ALZ-801, is in clinical development. He also founded INDRC, a Czech institute for artificial intelligence in neurodegenerative disorders.
He founded Tolion Health in 2023 to keep brains healthy and prevent dementia, by turning the science into daily, personal guidance on the risk factors a person can actually change – for cognitive performance and longevity now, as much as for what might come later. The company opened its headquarters at The BLOX in Prague in January 2025.
